The whole basis of marketing has undergone a major change in the last few years. The internet has been both a blessing and a curse!

Most companies believe that a lofty position on the search engines will automatically bring its own rewards. Sadly this is often not the case as some of our customers achieve good positions and hits which is not always reflected in a massive increase in turnover. There are some businesses which do much better on the net than others. The tourism industry in general and accommodation in particular does very well.

The truth is that every company has its own individual strengths and weaknesses. Two of our customers, a coffee house and a fishing tackle shop have recently moved from off centre positions to smaller but central outlets in Rye. In the case of one they managed to triple their turnover as a minimum. The other managed to do in 10 weeks what it had taken them 21/2 years in their previous location.

Not all businesses would benefit from a high street location in the same way that not all businesses would benefit particularly from having a website.

What is vital is that when you are planning a business or trying to improve your income that an effective marketing strategy is put into operation.
